At the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, we’ve spent over 35 years helping guests achieve optimal health through bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). This therapy uses hormones that are molecularly identical to those produced by the body to restore balance and address symptoms caused by hormonal decline. While there are many approaches to hormone therapy, not all are created equal. In this blog, we’ll explore the differences between hormone pellets and BHRT, and why our approach with BHRT prioritizes flexibility, safety, and lasting results.
Hormone pellets are small, solid cylinders containing synthetic (be aware) or bioidentical hormones. They are inserted under the skin through a minor surgical procedure and release hormones steadily over time. The pellet therapy is supra-physiologic dosing, which is an exceedingly high dose. While this delivery method may seem convenient, it can lead to extreme side effects that can continue until the pellet fully dissolves, which is typically 3 months.
Unlike hormone pellets, BHRT offers a safer, more adaptable, and guest-centered (we call our patients guests) approach to restoring hormonal balance. BHRT uses hormones that are molecularly identical to those naturally produced by the body, allowing for greater compatibility and fewer side effects.
Recognizing these signs early can help you take proactive steps toward restoring hormonal balance. For more on signs and symptoms, visit our hormonal health resource pages: hormone balancing for women and hormone balancing for men.
