Fibromyalgia: Diagnosis or Symptom?

Fibromyalgia: Diagnosis or Symptom?

This week MSN.com reported that people with fibromyalgia are more likely than the general population to also have these seven health conditions: migraines, autoimmune diseases, restless legs, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), pelvic pain, depression and anxiety, and obesity. The article indicates that the link between these conditions is not completely understood.

The word fibromyalgia means muscle pain. About 10 million Americans have the diagnosis of fibromyalgia, which is considered a syndrome characterized by painful, tender points most commonly felt in the neck, back, shoulders, pelvic girdle and hands, along with fatigue, sleeplessness, anxiety, depression, brain fog, headaches, IBS, and menstrual cramps. Coincidentally, all of these happen to be very common symptoms of hypothyroidism, which are often overlooked by mainstream doctors who treat each symptom as a separate disease with prescription drugs, rather than identifying their underlying cause.

The MSN.com article suggests antidepressants and fibromyalgia medications as a solution, but we have found it much more effective to treat the underlying cause of your symptoms naturally. Since hypothyroidism is a very common cause of fibromyalgia, it would make sense to replenish your body with what it’s missing – natural bioidentical thyroid supplementation such as desiccated thyroid.

If you are experiencing muscle pain, migraines, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, anxiety, depression, brain fog, headaches, IBS, menstrual cramps, joint pain and weight gain, please consider being properly evaluated and treated for hypothyroidism.
